Parellada and Garnacha Blanca, traditional white grapes, are what give Viña Sol its distinctive fresh fruitiness.
In 1962, Miguel A. Torres had just completed his studies in France. Driven by the energy of freshly acquired knowledge, he traveled back and forth between Vilafranca and a small cellar in Pontons to observe the results of fermenting grapes in the coldest area of the Penedès. From his efforts arose Viña Sol, a white wine that remains as young and fresh in spirit as when it first brought the Mediterranean sun to the World.
Excellent as an aperitif and accompaniment for rice dishes, seafood and fish. Serve chilled (around 10ºC )
Intense, with outstanding notes of flowers and ripe fruits (banana, pear, apple and peach), combined with delightful touches of citrus (mandarin zest) on a mentholated base.
It’s firm, fresh, long and elegant in the body, with a lingering finish.
