Product Description

Quixote Merlot 2008

Of the Quixote range of wines, the Merlot – Tempranillo – Petit Verdot, known as MTPV, is, in our view, the most representative, the most complex and refined and a wine that easily pleases the most diverse palates. Quixote Merlot 2008 is not an opulent or dense wine; It is elegant, well made, offers pleasure and shows the character of diversity, a careful selection of well-assembled grapes.

The Quixote wines are made with patience, they age at length in the cellar, and that slow maturation is perceived at all levels. Visually it offers a lively color despite its age, with a good layer, a beautiful cherry color, clean and bright, and a carmine border that begins to evolve but still shows all its vigor.

Its aromas are open and elegant; it seems as if the merlot variety takes the reins of the whole, preventing that nothing stands out in excess. It is a restrained nose, not at all aggressive but intense, complex, accessible, attractive and interesting. Fruity aromas of black fruit (plums, blackberries) are accompanied by a mild sweetness and balsamic notes, spicy, mineral (graphite) and fine woods (laurel, thyme, clove, cedar …), forming a careful and polished aromatic tissue.

In the mouth it flows easily, it is medium bodied, tasty, fruity, an almost perfect acidity … and with time in the glass it is the tempranillo variety that gains presence: the wine offers more fruit intensity, notes of black tea but, once again, round. The tannins are fine, the finish is friendly and shows a retronasal with a soft licorice background.

A wine of unique coupage, well achieved, a wine to recommend and decant always 30-60 minutes so you can unfold all that complexity.

NOTE: Wine without stabilization process or filtering; natural precipitations and sediments may appear.

Pairings:

Meat stews / game dishes / pepper entrecote / stuffed peppers / lasagna / cured cheeses / pig’s trotters / baked quail.

Tasting note:

View: Cherry red / garnet edging
Nose: Intense / pleasant / fruit aromas / black fruit / cherry / graphite / sweet spices / licorice / laurel / cedar wood
Palate: Tasty / structured / broad / sweet / balanced / complex / long finish
