Product Description

Wines of Arganza 2012 Palace of Arganza Cabernet Sauvignon-Mencia Red (Wine from the Land of Castilla y León)
87 POINTS
Aromas of currant, plum, herbs and dry brush are fresh, focused and do not try too hard. Wiry and juicy on the palate but not all that deep, this blend of 40% Cabernet and 60% Mencía tastes of pointed plum and raspberry, flavors that turn to touch sour on a zesty, acidic finish.

LOCATION: Located in the northwestern part of Spain in Castilla y León on the border with Galicia. It has 9100 hectares of vine.
PRODUCTION: A production of 150,000 hectoliters Type Of Floor: Mix of fine elements, quartz and slate. The vineyards are planted mainly in humid soil, slightly acidic and low in carbonates.

CLIMATE: Area with a special microclimate, which is optimal for viticulture. The low altitude means that the harvest of the grape is usually a few months earlier than in Castilla, with the minimum in winter of 38º F and maximum in summer of 75ºF.
The average annual rainfall is more than 700 mm, and the vines receive about 2,200 hours of sunlight.

FERMENTATION: Controlled temperature fermentation

AGING: Aging in French and American oak barrels for 10 months and another eight months in bottle

TASTING NOTES: Intense cherry red color, presents tone violaceous with nuances of youth. Fruit aromas that are assembled with mineral nuances and wood spice. The palate is structured, round with taninoe balanced and ample persistence of nuances and tastes. PAIRING: Ideal to accompany various chicken dishes, grilled meat opastas. SERVE: Between 16 and 18 ºC
