Product Description

Caño White Wine is made from Verdejo grapes. Verdejo is an indigenous variety of grape from the Rueda region in Spain. Verdejo grapes are generally harvested at night in order to obtain this wine of intense and fruity aroma. This prevents grapes from suffering the high temperatures of September days in this region.

  • GRAPE: Verdejo
  • STYLE: Still wine
  • REGION: D.O RuedaRueda is a wine producing region in the heart of the Iberian Peninsula, on the high plateau of Castile and León, right between two of Spain’s most famous red-wine producers: Ribera del Duero and Toro, and just on the North-West of Madrid. The river Duero flows through this region from East to West. Rueda was the first Denominación de Origen to be certified in the Region of Castile and León (1980). This high plateau is characterised by a typical continental climate featuring long cold winters, a brief spring season, and dry harsh hot summers
  • TASTING NOTESBright yellow colour, with a nose of remarkable citrus fruit flowers along with pears and apples. On the palate, the wine is lively and fresh, with an intense presence of citrus and a balanced acidity.
  • FOOD PAIRINGAn ideal companion to pasta in pesto sauce, seafood and Mediterranean style salads.
  • TECHNICAL INFORMATIONThis minority grape is harvested in early October. Fermentation takes place at 14- 16 ºC in stainless steel tanks to maximise its aromatic potential and character. The result of this wine making process is a fresh wine with subtle acidity.
